Process
I began designing the icons by first drawing sketches of key moments or objects from the movie as well as developing icons to represent key themes in the movie. Then after receiving feedback on my initial icon sketches some stayed the same, others were modified to make them more recognizable and some others were switched out entirely.
A Quiet Place Icon Set
Icon Design
I designed and created a set of ten icons inspired by the scenes and themes in the movie A Quiet Place. After creating the icon set I wanted to find a proper use for them and decided to turn them into buttons. I myself have always collected buttons from my favorite movies and shows to decorate my bags and felt that these buttons could be used in a similar way by fans of A Quiet Place
Final Icons & Reflection
The result of this project was ten distinct and recognizable icons based on the movie A Quiet Place. Overall, I was very happy with the final icons I created. I feel this project allowed me to practice my icon design and understand how to create unique and distinct icons. I also feel that turning the icon set into a set of buttons was an extremely fun way for the icon set to be used in a physical way.
